Job summary

A community-focused sports charity in Norwich is seeking a Safeguarding Manager to champion safeguarding across the Foundation. Objectives:

• Ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding regulations and legislations.
• Conduct your duties as theDesignated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), providing expert advice and decision-making support to staff and volunteers.

Knowledge, skills and experience - desirable

• Currently (or previously) in a senior safeguarding role
• Understanding of safeguarding processes and how to raise concerns with external agencies
• Formal Safeguarding training, relevant Level 4 Safeguarding qualifications (or equivalent experience)
• Understanding of how to manage Welfare & Wellbeing Concerns raised by adults and young people
• Evidence working at a strategic safeguarding level with key stakeholders
• Experience in dealing with challenging situations involving parents, stakeholders, and external agencies sensitively and professionally

Knowledge, skills and experience - desirable

• Experience with providing low level pastoral support for young people
• Experience in training and teaching new skills to learners at different levels to achieve a shared outcome and understanding.
• Experience in prioritising a potentially emotive workload to ensure the best outcomes
