Job description

Asset Management, Compliance & Regulatory, Risk Management

Join Macquarie Asset Management’s Credit and Insurance Risk team, where we support the Insurance businesses by providing expert risk guidance on transactions, new products and opportunities. Our team implements a robust risk management framework, ensuring internal controls are designed and operate effectively. Based in London, we work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders across the Insurance businesses globally, reinforcing a culture of risk management and continuous improvement.

At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets and with 56 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone – no matter what role – contributes ideas and drives outcomes.

What role will you play?

As Manager in the Credit and Insurance Risk team, you will support the development and implementation of risk strategy for Macquarie Asset Management’s Insurance businesses. You will provide advisory and guidance on risk management frameworks and policy, assist with incident management and operational risk investigations, and prepare risk reporting for Senior Management and Boards. You will contribute to divisional risk assessments, conduct deep‑dive reviews of internal controls, and prepare risk training materials. Your role will also involve supporting presentations to investors and external stakeholders, working closely with the Global Risk Lead for Insurance and business teams.

What you offer
  • At least 5‑6 years of relevant experience in developing or executing non‑financial risk management frameworks, ideally within an alternative investment manager, fixed income manager, or insurance company
  • Proven ability to perform in a fast‑paced, output‑focused environment as a well‑organised self‑starter with a flexible, can‑do attitude
  • Experience and exposure to derivatives trading, trading environments, and technology
  • No prior actuarial experience is required; however a good understanding of modelling mechanics will set you apart from other applicants.
  • Comfortable with complexity and new processes, with the ability to think through risks and controls from first principles
  • Strong understanding of business control environments and technology, with prior experience in risk management, operational risk, or internal audit
  • Excellent analytical, lateral thinking and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and confidently present to stakeholders
  • Ability to autonomously lead deep‑dive risk and control assurance reviews, provide risk advice on projects, and synthesise complex information into key messages

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us. If you’re excited about the role or about working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.

What we offer
  • 1 wellbeing leave day per year and a minimum of 25 days of annual leave.
  • 26 weeks’ paid parental leave for primary caregivers along with 12 days of paid transition leave upon return to work and 6 weeks’ paid leave for secondary caregivers.
  • Paid fertility leave for those undergoing or supporting fertility treatment.
  • 2 days of paid volunteer leave and donation matching.
  • Access to a wide range of salary‑sacrificing options.
  • Benefits and initiatives to support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing, including comprehensive medical and life insurance cover.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program, a robust behavioural health network with counselling and coaching services.
  • Access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities, including reimbursement for professional membership or subscription.
  • Access to company‑funded emergency and backup dependent care services.
  • Recognition and service awards.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements, dependent on role.
  • Reimbursement for work‑from‑home equipment.
