Job summary

An international law firm in London is seeking a Risk & Compliance Officer for a full-time position. The role involves supporting risk and regulatory compliance across various matters. The ideal candidate will have a Law Degree, at least 2 years of compliance experience within a law firm, and proficiency in MS Office tools. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement (3 days in the office/2 days working from home) and a salary up to £45,000, along with fantastic employee benefits.

  • Experience with conducting client due diligence and reviewing KYC documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in on-boarding new clients and ensuring correct details.
  • Conduct client due diligence and undertake AML and sanctions searches.
  • Review changes to the client impacting risk.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date matter information.
  • Assist in producing spreadsheets to monitor inception process status.
  • Assist Risk Lawyers in preparing internal file audits.

Skills

Excellent academics with a Law Degree or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years’ compliance experience within a law firm
Previous AML experience
High level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel

Base pay range

Our international law firm client is seeking to hire a Risk & Compliance Officer on a permanent basis to provide support on all areas surrounding risk, regulatory compliance and conflict matters for their London office based in the beating heart of the city.

  • Salary to £45,000
  • 09:30-17:30 + hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days WFH)

Key Responsibilities of the Risk & Compliance Officer:
  • Assisting in on‑boarding new clients and matters and ensuring that all details are correct.
  • Conducting client due diligence, reviewing KYC documentation and undertaking AML and sanctions searches on clients.
  • Reviewing any changes to the client which may have an impact on client or matter risk.
  • Ensuring that matter information is kept accurate and up to date.
  • Assisting in the production of spreadsheets to monitor client and matter inception process status.
  • Assisting Risk Lawyers in preparation of annual internal file audits.
Skills & Requirements of the Risk & Compliance Officer:
  • Excellent academics with a Law Degree or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ compliance experience within a law firm is essential for this role.
  • Previous AML experience. A high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
