THE EMPLOYER IS: MAKIN' SCENTSWe are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Retail & Workshop Assistant. This is a hands-on role that combines retail work with creative workshop support. The successful applicant will be involved in serving customers, operating the till, restocking and displaying products, and at times assisting in producing wax melts or candles. They will also assist in the preparation and delivery of candle-making workshops.This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in retail operations, craft production, and small business support within a friendly and creative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the till and point-of-sale (POS) system to process sales and handle transactions accurately.
  • Serve customers in a professional and welcoming manner, providing information about products and workshops.
  • Restock shelves and maintain attractive product displays.
  • Produce wax melts, including measuring ingredients, melting, pouring, and packaging finished products.
  • Assist with the preparation, setup, and clean-up of candle-making workshops.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in both the shop and workshop areas.
  • Support inventory management by recording stock levels and receiving deliveries.
Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic IT skills for stock tracking or workshop booking systems.
  • Creative eye for product display and shop presentation.
  • Flexibility to assist in different areas of the business as needed.
  • Reliability and a positive attitude towards learning new tasks.
