More about the role

Blue Cross is a leading UK animal welfare charity with over 50 retail shops across England and Wales. Our retail operations are essential in raising funds that support our mission of caring for sick, injured, and homeless pets, helping over 40,000 animals each year through reing, veterinary, and education programmes.

Based at our Hartlebury office, home to both our retail administration team and warehouse, you'll be at the centre of our operations where your role will provide crucial administrative support to our retail team, assisting with logistics and coordination to keep things running smoothly. This part time role is for 21 hours p/week – we’re flexible on how these hours are worked so are happy to discuss further at interview with what might work for you!

You will work with data on internal finance and EPOS systems to create reports to supply our teams with insights to help decision making across our retail function.

We need you to be a strong communicator in both written and verbal communication and be confident working with multiple systems and software’s. As you will be responsible for keeping systems and filing up to date and organised, having good attention to detail is crucial to be successful in this role.

About you

We’re looking for a natural problem solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask. As an administration assistant, you will be working with a varied team which is made up of different roles where everyday is different. You’ll be someone who is happy to get involved with a variety of responsibilities, which may include working in our warehouse or working closely with our e-Commerce team.

You’ll be instrumental in handling sensitive information and contributing to the overall success of our retail operations.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Confident computer user with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Gift Aid.
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Awareness of data protection and the need for confidentiality
