Respiratory Nurse Specialist – Secondment Posts

We are hiring two full‑time Band 7 Respiratory Specialist Nurses for a secondment to our Community Cardio Respiratory Team in Mid Notts. The posts are for a period of 4 months, dependent on the date of commencement. Applicants must have manager authorisation and be ready to start immediately or as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, manage and discuss a cohort of patients with undiagnosed and diagnosed long‑term lung conditions.
  • Provide care plans, working closely with the Cardio Respiratory Team, wider multidisciplinary team, acute colleagues, GPs, voluntary sector and other health professionals.
  • Deliver care in community clinic settings and patients’ homes or usual residence.
  • Support caseload management of patients with chronic respiratory conditions.
  • Actively participate in project activities aimed at identifying patients not yet diagnosed with a respiratory condition within the Integrated Neighbourhood Team.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Registered Nurse with Band 7 experience.
  • Non‑medical prescribing qualification (V300) essential.
  • Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use; reasonable adjustments for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
  • Ability to travel independently across the county.
  • Eligibility for DBS check; applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check, costs deducted from salary over the first two months of employment.
  • Willingness to enrol in the DBS Update Service (annual fee of £16).

Work Schedule and Location

  • 5‑day service, operating from 8:00 – 17:00.
  • Based at Ashfield Health Village and Newark Health Centre; covers the Mansfield and Newark localities.
