Job description

It's on you to make sure we have the people we need, when we need them, by providing a highly effective recruitment service to hiring managers across FCDO Services. You'll take ownership of the full recruitment lifecycle, guiding hiring managers through processes, agreeing on candidate selection methods, and ensuring campaigns run smoothly. Having a deep understanding of your recruitment portfolio, you'll use that expertise to attract, assess, and secure top talent, making a real difference to the organisation's capability and performance.

Building relationships with both external and internal stakeholders will also come naturally to you. Using data and management information, you'll spot opportunities to improve recruitment practices. And along the way? You'll work closely with managers, helping them tackle complex hiring challenges and ensuring the business secures the talent it needs to succeed.

Bring your recruitment know‑how to work that matters

You're passionate about recruitment and driven to make an impact. You'll know your way around advertising methods, assessment tools, and interviewing techniques, and you'll be confident juggling multiple campaigns at once. Planning, prioritising workload, and hitting deadlines will be second nature to you.

You're a natural at communicating effectively and influencing managers, stakeholders, and suppliers with ease while keeping recruitment processes smooth and efficient. Knowledge of recruitment legislation, Civil Service principles, and applicant‑tracking systems will help, but it's your energy, curiosity, and collaborative approach that will truly stand out.

Your CV and personal statement will not form part of the assessment; they will provide insight into your work history and experience.

Your CV should include:

  • no personal identifying details
  • career history with key responsibilities
  • skills and experience
  • achievements
  • qualifications

Your personal statement should outline your interest in the role.

Candidates will only be sifted on answers provided to the technical/job‑specific questions outlined in the application form.

Those that are successful will be invited to a MS Teams or face‑to‑face interview. At the interview you will be asked a blend of questions on job‑specific/technical skills, behaviours, and a business scenario question.

Candidates who are judged to be close to meeting the criteria may be considered for other positions in FCDO Services at a lower grade but with a potential skill match. Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.

Security

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is a security check. See our vetting charter. People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard checks.
