Job summary

As part of the Waste and Resource Recovery team you will work with a team of dedicated, innovative and award‑winning professionals who provide waste and recycling services, waste planning and promote waste avoidance and resource recovery within our City.

About the role

This position develops and implements education programs (in conjunction with Council’s waste collection and processing contractors) for residents, schools, community groups, businesses and Council staff relevant to domestic and commercial waste collection services, waste processing and disposal services, and waste avoidance and resource recovery practices.

This role is temporary full‑time with part‑time job‑sharing arrangements being considered for suitable applicants.

Essential criteria
  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science Education or related field
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Experience in the environment education, training or related industry
  • Experience in the preparation and production of education material
  • A current Class C Drivers Licence

Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $92,765 – $107,380 per annum plus 12% Superannuation and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.

You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and / or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review in order to progress through the recruitment process.
