A major international law firm is seeking a resource manager to assist one of their practice groups. The successful candidate will work closely with partners, fee earners, and support staff, and must have a proven track record of building strong relationships.

The primary responsibility of the resource manager is to allocate work across the group, ensuring all client matters are staffed effectively and efficiently. Key duties include:

  • Building strong relationships with the practice group and optimizing work allocation
  • Proactively anticipating and recognizing resourcing needs
  • Monitoring resource needs and identifying times of increased or decreased busyness
  • Attending weekly management meetings
  • Understanding individual skillsets and identifying training needs
  • Monitoring chargeable hours and providing feedback to partners
