Overview

Do you have the resilience, patience, and energy to make a lasting difference in young people\'s lives? Quokka Education is proud to be supporting an Outstanding day and residential special school for 97 boys aged 10-16 with a range of needs including ADHD, autism, and challenging behaviour. The residential unit provides weekday evening placements for up to 20 pupils, creating a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive. We\'re looking for a compassionate, warm-hearted Residential Child Care Worker to cover maternity leave from October 2025 (term-time only, three evenings per week). This is a rewarding role, working alongside a dedicated, highly skilled team to create a caring and stimulating environment.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as a positive role model for children in residence

  • Responding with empathy, patience, and consistency - even when behaviour is challenging

Schedule
  • Monday: 12:30pm - 9:00pm
  • Tuesday: 2:00pm - 11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in, then Wednesday morning 7:00am - 9:00am
  • Thursday: 2:00pm - 11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in, then Friday morning 7:00am - 9:00am
