Children's Residential Support Worker - Full-Time (Permanent)

Location: Herne Bay, Kent
Salary: Competitive + enhancements

Social Care Recruitment are seeking proactive, reliable and passionate Children's Residential Support Workers for full-time, permanent opportunities within our partner services.

About the Role

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you'll be supporting young people aged 6-25 across Residential Children's Homes and Supported Living services. Your role is to help them feel safe, develop life skills, build confidence and work towards a brighter future.

This is a hands‑on, active role where you'll be involved in everything from daily routines to engaging activities, behaviour support and emotional guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent emotional, practical and behavioural support
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and positive environment
  • Promote independence through structured routines and life skills
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with young people
  • Support individuals with challenging behaviours, trauma and complex needs
  • Participate in community‑based and in‑house activities
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver high‑quality care
  • Follow safeguarding principles and Children’s Home Regulations (Ofsted)
What We’re Looking For
  • Full‑time availability (Essential)
  • Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle (Essential)
  • Minimum 6 months’ UK social care experience (children or adults)
  • Proactive, resilient and confident approach
  • Genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (preferred – can be arranged)
