Qualifications

  • Experience in Psychiatry preferred.
  • Ability to manage risk and ask for help.
  • First-rate communication and documentation skills.

  • Performing ECGs, Blood tests, and Patient assessments.

As Resident Medical Officer, youll play a crucial role providing On Call cover for Cygnet Hospital Oldbury.This is our 27 bed state-of-the-art PICU & Acute hospital for women, in the West Midlands.

The RMO is the Doctor covering On Calls between 5pm and 9am on weekdays and weekends. Generally the RMO will work on a rota of 4 days on / 3 days off every week.Advice and guidance is available from the Consultants On Call and weekly supervision will be offered within the above hours.

We are looking for someone who is
  • Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
  • An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement, the ability to manage risk & know when to ask for help
  • Preferably experienced in Psychiatry
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
