Role: Resident Doctor Obs & Gynae

Town / Site: London, The Portland Hospital for Women and Children, part of HCA Healthcare UK.

Part time: 24 Hrs Per Week; 12.5 Hr Shifts

Permanent: There are opportunities for additional shifts, by join our Bank ( internal locums )

Salary: Highly Competitive.

The Portland Hospital, HCA Healthcare, is actively looking for a talented Resident Doctor to join our Obs & Gynae team. The inpatient unit is a 24/7, 365 day-a-year service. The inpatient beds include Gynaecology, Perinatal and Labour ward. The outpatient unit is open Monday to Saturday with a Midwife Led Service staffed by midwives.

While we are a Consultant Led Service, we empower our Resident Doctors, so your role could expand as you wish. You’ll have the chance to be involved in audits, projects and quality improvement initiatives, and the opportunity to join internal networks. This can help steer the services you deliver, support patient satisfaction focus groups, clinical governance or MDT meetings, and provide networking with peers to share best practice.

What You'll Bring:

  • MRCO&G
  • Higher Degrees including MSc, PhD, MD etc
  • GMC registration and completion of Foundation training
  • Minimum of 5 years’ specialty experience within Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • ALS (or equivalent) current certificates
  • Competent in: Cannulation and phlebotomy, urinary catheterization and bladder ultrasound, Obstetric ultrasound to determine lie and placenta position, emergency procedures (including emergency surgery and delivery)
Responsibilities
  • Provide obstetric and gynecological clinical care in a 24/7 inpatient unit and a Monday–Saturday outpatient service.
  • Engage in audits, projects and quality improvement initiatives; participate in internal networks, MDT meetings, and clinical governance activities.
  • Collaborate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centred care.
