Job description

We're looking for a Research Technician to join our customer's Global Cell Bank team in Cambridge. This fully operational, lab-based role supports cell culture activities and ensures smooth weekend operations (Friday-Monday) as part of our 7-day science initiative. As a Research Technician, you'll be at the heart of our cell culture operations, supporting cutting-edge research and ensuring our labs never miss a beat.

What You'll Do
  • Perform routine cell culture and banking
  • Support tissue culture by providing live cultures (Flasks/Plates) for screening
  • Cultivate HEK293, CHO, and ExpiSF9 cell lines for recombinant protein expression workflows (transfection, feed, harvest)
  • Prepare reagents and media, aliquoting as needed
  • Conduct QC testing and data analysis
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards
  • Deliver seamless handovers to keep operations smooth
  • Degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent lab experience
  • Hands-on expertise in cell and tissue culture and aseptic techniques
  • Familiarity with IT systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and excellent communication skills
