Offer Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join Dr Joao Monteiro’s group within the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford. Funded by the ERC project ImmunoSynergy, this role is responsible for providing research support on investigating host-pathogen interactions during intracellular bacterial infection. You will join a dynamic team working at the vanguard of Infection Biology and contribute to research that combines Super-Resolution Live Imaging, single cell transcriptomics, gene editing and therapeutics. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical expertise in Molecular and Cell Biology, in laboratory management and to provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, all while supporting impactful research into host-pathogen dynamics.

This full-time fixed-term post is funded by the European Research Council for up to 3 years in the first instance.

The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.
