Temporary Repairs Surveyor
  • Day Rate: Negotiable, dependent on experience

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a large housing provider for a Temporary Repairs Surveyor. This role is crucial for someone with a solid background in property management, specifically experienced in maintenance surveying. The successful candidate will be responsible for pre/post-inspection and reports for responsive repairs, void works, and cyclical repairs within the relevant area of operation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct diagnostic inspections, surveys, and technical reports in accordance with best practices.
  • Engage with customers, leaseholders, and both internal and external stakeholders in the region to ensure the highest standards of delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the performance and on-site progress of contractors, ensuring that works are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Identify and manage insurance claims, property inspections, and liaise with adjusters and insurance teams.
  • Serve as the technical lead during the handover of new developments to ensure quality control through completion.
  • Control budgetary spend within the individual area of operation, ensuring accurate recording of revenue and capital spend.
  • Manage legal disrepair claims and Environmental Health Orders effectively, providing detailed reports and managing complex repairs.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Surveying, Property and Maintenance Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS or CIOB).
  • Extensive knowledge of the social housing sector and its regulations.
  • Proficient in building construction, standards, planning regulations, and health & safety legislation relevant to asset management.
  • Strong financial management skills within a contractor management and day-to-day repairs delivery context.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively managing relationships with colleagues, residents, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage small projects, and adapt to a changing environment with conflicting priorities.
