A leading renewable energy company in the UK is searching for an experienced Renewables Sales Consultant to join their team. Job description
Role

Climate17 are working alongside a leading renewable energy business who design, build, operate and maintain commercial and industrial renewable energy projects across the UK. They are actively searching for an experienced Renewables Sales Consultant to join their growing team on a self-employed basis. The role will be focussed on domestic residential and small commercial (sub-50kW) customers and requires full compliance with MCS standards. You will represent a reputable and established business with strong technical, administrative, and design support with established supply chains, processes, and installation teams, while enjoying the flexibility of either full-time or part-time hours and earnings potential of uncapped earnings, with commission scaling for self-generated leads.

Responsibilities
  • Following up on high-quality, qualified leads across the region to successfully sell renewable energy solutions including PV systems, battery storage, and small-scale commercial installations such as carports, ground mounts, and EV charging.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial customer engagement to closing, supported by our in-house team.
  • Ensure all installations sold fall within MCS compliance requirements.
  • Utilise company-provided leads across Bristol and North Somerset, while also generating your own leads where desired (commission rate reflects this).
  • Conduct on‑site and remote consultations, surveys, and customer assessments.
  • Work closely with technical and design staff to create accurate proposals and solutions.
  • Coordinate outsourced heat pump opportunities where relevant (note: these are not covered under our MCS).
Requirements
  • Must be a Self‑employed contractor – outside of IR35
  • Proven track record in renewables sales, ideally in solar PV, battery systems, or related small commercial renewable products.
  • Strong understanding of MCS requirements for domestic and sub-50kW installations.
  • Motivated, entrepreneurial, and confident operating on a self‑employed basis.
  • Knowledgeable in renewable technologies and able to explain them clearly to customers
  • Organised and thorough, with a commitment to quality and compliance.
  • Professional, trustworthy, and customer focused.
  • Ability to work independently, manage your own pipeline, and represent the company professionally.
  • Excellent communication, customer engagement, and consultative selling skills.
  • Comfortable working from home, on the road, and periodically from the company office in the Bristol area.
