Job summary

A community-focused housing organization is seeking a Contract Manager to lead the management of capital and cyclical works programmes. This role requires strong contract management expertise and proven experience in commercial management within the construction sector. Candidates must have a relevant degree and skills in analysis, negotiation, and communication. The position allows for remote work with one day per week at the Peterborough office, making it an excellent opportunity to drive value for the organization and its residents.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of contract management principles (NEC/JCT).
  • Proven experience in commercial management for planned works or construction projects.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a Contract Management Plan (CMP) including KPIs and risk registers.
  • Provide strategic commercial reports on budget performance, risk analysis, and supplier compliance.
  • Monitor budgets, validate contractor payment applications, and manage variations.
  • Support procurement processes and embed sustainability and social value requirements in contracts.
  • Drive continuous improvement and maintain audit readiness.
