Job summary

A health and support organization in Belfast seeks a dedicated care worker to provide the highest standards of support to Service Users. You will promote recovery and well-being by supporting Service Users in managing their mental and physical health. Ideal candidates should have experience in health and social care, with the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Flexible to work on a rota/shift basis including weekends and nights.
  • Educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2 or 12 months experience in health and social care.
  • Experience in motivating and supporting Service Users.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain trusting relationships with Service Users.
  • Support Service Users with mental and physical health through personal management plans.
  • Encourage Service Users to participate in decision-making.

Job description

Provide the highest possible standard of care and support to Service Users by actively promoting and implementing Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach.

Responsibilities
  • Develop & maintain a trusting & professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive & empathetic manner towards them.
  • Contribute to & help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support Service Users to manage their Mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
  • Actively encourage the involvement of Service Users in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by them.
  • Deliver care & support within the context of a social inclusion and recovery approach which is designed to work with people to find and maintain hope, re-establish a positive identity, build a meaningful life and take responsibility and control.
Skills and Qualifications
  • To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis in Supported Housing. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or night cover as required to meet the needs of the scheme.
  • Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.OR
  • A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
  • Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
