Part‑Time RVN – Join a Talented, Close‑Knit Veterinary Team in Beautiful Shropshire

  • Part‑time salary of £19,825 per year (equivalent to £30,500 FTE) with a structured 26‑hour working week

My client is seeking an experienced Part‑Time Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to become a valued member of their dedicated and friendly team. This is a permanent, sole‑charge nursing position, working closely with an experienced Vet Surgeon and a supportive group of reception and administrative staff.

Set within the stunning county of Shropshire, just a short drive from the iconic Iron Bridge World Heritage Site and the scenic Wrekin hills, this charming practice offers a warm community feel and excellent facilities, including an in‑house laboratory and fully equipped operating theatre. The team also works in close collaboration with their well‑established sister practice, ensuring a strong network of clinical support.

The Role

The successful RVN will play a key role in the smooth running of the practice, supporting a variety of clinical and client‑facing duties. This includes participating in consults, administrative tasks, and front‑of‑house support while ensuring every patient and client receives the exceptional care the practice is known for.

Working hours
  • 26 hours per week: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00–17:30
  • 1 in 6 weekends: 12‑hour shift at Shrewsbury 24‑Hour
  • Participation in Bank Holiday and On‑Call rotas
  • Part‑time salary: £19,825 per year (Full‑Time Equivalent: £30,500)

Role Accountabilities
  • Deliver consistently outstanding care to clients and their pets
  • Support surgeries and procedures, including all pre‑ and post‑operative duties
  • Run nurse‑led appointments and schedule 3 procedures
  • Provide high‑quality patient monitoring and nursing care
  • Manage admissions and discharges under Veterinary direction
  • Facilitate patient transfers to out‑of‑hours or enhanced care
  • Dispense and check medications accurately
  • Uphold professional, regulatory, and operational standards
  • Lead team briefings and contribute to effective practice coordination
Skills and Experience
  • RCVS‑registered and confident in all aspects of Veterinary Nursing
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional patient and client care
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Competent in running nurse consults and understanding their impact on practice growth and efficiency
  • Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues to achieve great results
