Job description
Full- or Part-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Independent Practice
  • Clear opportunities to grow your role: Whether you want to specialise clinically or lead nurse clinics. As a training practice, you’re surrounded by people who mentor, support and help you progress.
  • Support for advanced training and certificates: With both in-house and external CPD encouraged and funded.
  • A flexible rota: With full- or part-time options, supportive colleagues and a work/life balance that actually works.
  • Excellent equipment and diagnostic tools: Including ultrasound, digital x-ray and a full in-house lab, so you can do your best work every day.
  • An unbeatable location: Beaches, mountains, trails and peaceful countryside on your doorstep, turning your downtime into adventure time.

Are you looking for more than just a job? Here’s your chance to become part of a supportive, friendly team, in one of the most beautiful corners of Wales where your work really matters and where every weekend can feel like a getaway.

Why you’ll love working here

This is an independent mixed veterinary practice based in the heart of a historic Welsh market town. The practice cares for small pets, exotics, farm animals and equines, offering a varied and rewarding caseload.
Right from your shift’s end you could be on a stunning beach within 15–20 minutes, or out exploring mountain trails on the slopes of a dramatic peak that rises above the town ideal for unwinding or recharging outside work.

The practice has been serving the local community for more than a century and remains proudly independent, with a loyal client base spanning generations.

You’ll be joining a well-established team: multiple veterinarians working across species, supported by a dedicated nursing staff.

The Role — What you’ll be doing

As an RVN, you will handle general nursing duties, nurse clinical, anaesthesia and patient care. There is an in-house ultrasound, digital x-rays, a full lab, and equipment that supports advanced diagnostics and really broaden your clinical experience.

Flexible Rota — Work the Way You Want
  • Full‑time: 5 days per week, with 1 weeknight on‑call and 1 weekend in 4
  • Part‑time: 3 days per week, with 1 weeknight on‑call and 1 weekend in 4
  • Rotating shifts during the day (e.g. 08:00–16:00, 09:00–17:00, 10:30–18:30)
  • Time‑off in lieu after each worked weekend
What’s in it for you
  • A supportive, down‑to‑earth team who value and respect their staff and each other
  • Great opportunities for professional development: in‑house and external CPD, mentoring, nurse training support (they’re an approved training practice)
  • Access to good equipment and diagnostics: ultrasound, digital x‑ray, in‑house lab, full surgical and dental capabilities, so you stay clinically engaged and challenged
  • Competitive salary (based on experience) — aligned with your skills and contributions
  • The rare opportunity to live and work in a region where work/life balance doesn’t just mean a commute home but coastal sunsets, mountain hikes, and countryside peace, right on your doorstep.

If you want to feel part of a team, part of a community, and part of something meaningful, where your work is valued and your days are full of purpose — we’d love to hear from you.
