Main duties of the job

A Registered Nurse at Avery Healthcare will provide high‑quality care to residents, performing tasks such as medication distribution, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding, and managing chronic medical conditions. The RN advises families and GPs on changes in residents’ conditions, supervises the care team to ensure all duties are completed on shift, and maintains accurate assessments and care plans.

Job responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, you will act as person in charge, standing in for the Manager when required, and observe all instructions to act upon their behalf while ensuring a high standard of care to residents. Your responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
  • Advising families of residents and GPs of any changes in condition, keeping them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
  • Responsible for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
  • Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

  • Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.

  • Have sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.
