A leading healthcare provider in Barnard Castle is recruiting Band 5 RGN primary care nurses for an interim position in prison services. The role involves providing primary care, conducting health assessments, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team. Candidates must be registered nurses with a commitment to delivering high-quality care. Full training provided. Flexible working and access to NHS Pension included.
We're recruiting now for full time (37.5 hours per week) Band 5 RGN primary care nurses to cover an interim position for approx 6 months to work within our prison services in HMPYOI Deerbolt.
Every day is different for a prison nurse, as you'll work within varied roles including:
oPrimary care nursing
oMinor injuries and illnesses
oEmergency and urgent care
oHealth assessment and wellbeing checks
oLong term conditions
We are a multi-disciplinary team collaborating with other services like GP, Optometry, Dentist, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Sexual health, Substance Misuse and Mental health. To help us deliver our extensive range of services, you'll be a qualified registered nurse (RGN) with a passion to deliver high-quality clinical care and a commitment to the rehabilitation of offenders. You'll be self-motivated, have a sound knowledge base and excellent communications skills.
Experience of working within the prison environment is not necessary as full induction and training will be provided.
