Registered Manager – Children’s Support Service (Temporary with Potential to Go Permanent)

£25 - 26 per hour • Immediate Start Available

Are you an experienced leader in children’s services looking for a temporary opportunity that could lead to a permanent Registered Manager role? We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Registered Manager to oversee a high‑quality Children’s Support Service in Northampton. This temporary role offers the chance to showcase your leadership skills with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity to step into a meaningful leadership role, support vulnerable children and young people, and make a lasting impact within a supportive organisation.

About the Service

Our Children’s Support Service provides personalised support for young people aged 8–18 with a variety of needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties, ASD, trauma backgrounds, and social care involvement.

You will lead a team dedicated to delivering safe, child‑centred, consistent and therapeutic care.

The Role – What You’ll Do
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight across the children’s support service
  • Ensure the service meets Ofsted and safeguarding standards
  • Lead, coach and develop a skilled staff team
  • Manage service performance, staffing, quality assurance and record‑keeping
  • Maintain effective communication with local authorities, families and external professionals
  • Create a safe, structured and nurturing environment for young people
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments and regulatory standards

This role is ideal for someone who can start quickly, bring immediate value, and potentially grow into a permanent leadership position.

What We’re Looking For
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • Minimum 2 years’ management experience in children’s residential care or youth services
  • Strong working knowledge of Ofsted requirements and safeguarding legislation
  • Confident, proactive leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to support a team through change and promote strong child‑centred practice
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
