This is a superb opportunity for a highly motivated technical sales professional who can demonstrate the ability to adapt to evolving business needs. Reporting to the Utility Products Business Unit Director, the successful candidate will be experienced in building long-term commercial relationships and will come from a comparable industry sales background.

The role will be based in the Northern Region. You will be expected to travel across the UK, with regular overnight stays required, and occasional travel to Northern Ireland to support customers.

Your bit…
  • Secure new business by building strong relationships with existing customers, maintaining a high profile with key accounts, and seeking to recover any 'lost' business.
  • Promote the development of new products and markets to fully utilise the Company's manufacturing capacity and support continued growth.
  • In liaison with the Directors, determine products to be manufactured within the Company and make recommendations for new products and services.
  • Work with the Board and Management to plan and, where appropriate, lead cross-functional project teams to increase sales and reduce costs.
  • Negotiate prices and terms within Company parameters, managing gross margin and pricing across all accounts.
  • Prepare and negotiate tenders for major projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate information is communicated to stock management and despatch operations to meet customer requirements.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings, ensuring content and agendas support Utility Products sales objectives.
  • Support and attend trade exhibitions to promote our products and brands.
  • Produce monthly management reports, including recommended actions, for presentation to the Board.
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed in compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Regulations.
What you need to do it…
  • A strong understanding of the Utility market, with proven success selling in a similar industry sector.
  • A proven track record of securing new business.
  • First-rate communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong, long-term client relationships.
  • The ability to thrive in a changing environment and drive the business into new opportunities.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with resilience in challenging circumstances.
  • Confidence, strong organisational skills, and excellent problem-solving capability.
  • A tenacious, driven and enthusiastic mindset, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work outside of 'core' office hours as business needs require.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
Our bit…
  • Great working conditions within a people-focused organisation that values work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for career progression.
  • A competitive salary reflecting experience.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • 33 days' annual leave, including statutory holidays.
  • Company bonus scheme.
  • Charity and social events
