Overview

have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Project Logistics Chartering Manager, with European coverage. This role will see you collaborating with internal and external stakeholder groups where you will secure and manage ocean freight charters, typically for oversized, heavy-lift, or time-critical cargo. We are ideally looking for someone to be based within the United Kingdom; however this amazing role can be based anywhere across Europe.

Responsibilities

Reporting into the Global Head of Chartering you will support colleagues across the region with chartering opportunities, identifying, maintaining and managing pending regional charter requests and charters under execution. You will prepare charter and contractual documentation ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards and oversee vessel operations during execution, checking and validating financial statements. You will work in conjunction with wider teams throughout the procurement process, negotiating freight rates and terms with vessel owners for part or full charters and support sales and business development teams with technical chartering expertise during customer engagements. You will also keep up to date with market intelligence, monitoring shipping market trends, vessel availability and freight pricing. You will build and maintain excellent working relationships with ocean carriers and vessel owners, developing a network of preferred suppliers for future chartering activities.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Chartering and Project Logistics operation, ideally within an ocean freight, brokerage, or 3PL environment.
  • Excellent knowledge in charter negotiations and maritime law.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, HS codes and international shipping documentation.
  • An understanding of trade compliance and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
  • Natural communication skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficient in English - both written and verbal.
Desirable
  • Holds an Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) certification.
  • Knowledge of global trade compliance and regulations.
