Job summary

A local council in Atherstone is seeking applicants for a role in waste services. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the Borough's cleanliness by emptying wheelie bins and addressing resident queries. Job description

37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the waste services team at Lower House Farm where you will be able to assist in keeping the Borough clean and green and assisting residents to understand waste and recycling.

The successful applicant will be responsible for emptying wheelie bins either from the kerb or where necessary residents properties, assisting residents queries and other tasks in accordance with the Council’s standards of service.

Applicants will need to have a flexible approach to working hours, be willing to and able to start work at 6.30am and to work outside standard hours when necessary to ensure completion of collections. Applicants must also be prepared to work weekends and bank holidays as required.

Appointment to this post will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service, before the appointment is confirmed. A Basic check will be required. This will contain details of convictions and conditional cautions considered to be ‘unspent’ under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Applicants must be physically fit, be willing to undertake appropriate training and be prepared to undertake other duties when required.
