Overview

The Recycling and Waste Manager will have overall responsibility for the recycling team, charity donation and waste away function for the airport. They will drive continuous improvement, deliver to recycling and waste KPIs, manage third‑party contracts and work closely with operational and environment teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement in end‑to‑end recycling and waste processes.
• Deliver recycling and waste targets and KPI’s within budget.
• Manage third‑party contracts and build stakeholder relationships.
• Influence and lead the recycling team to meet operational objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years operations waste management experience.
• Practitioner membership of IEMA or equivalent.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Demonstrable knowledge of waste, recycling best practice techniques.
• Cross‑functional working experience in operational environments.
• Structured approach to Environmental Management Systems.
• Highly self‑motivated, creative and proactive with team coordination skills.
• Proven competency within the waste sector and COTC level 4 or experienced DGSA / WM3 assessor.
• IT skills and valid driving licence.
• Experience with ISO14001 & ISO50001 desirable.

Salary & Hours

Permanent position, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. Salary – Band 4 – £46,242 p.a. plus bonus.
