Tetra Tech International Development Europe is Tetra Tech’s European business unit focused on International Development. We operate a hybrid working policy, with people working from the office two days a week and the rest working from home. People may choose to come in more often.

Job Overview

The role sits in the Business Development Unit that provides support across all practice areas in developing sustainable, effective project designs and proposals. As part of the Business Development Unit, you will lead on the attraction, identification and selection of candidates to fill short and long-term positions on international development projects, both current and prospective. The role will focus on recruiting expert teams for primarily FCDO proposals and occasionally ongoing projects.

You will support and advise the bid teams on how to best construct their project teams and present them to the client, including drafting team profiles and CVs for bids. You will provide advice on talent attraction and develop and build/maintain expert networks and relationships with Tetra Tech associates. You will play a key role in managing, maintaining, and advising teams on the use of our recruitment database, providing support and training in the recruitment process, compliance, and best practices.

Main Duties

Work in partnership with all departments at Tetra Tech International Development Europe to determine staffing needs, candidate matches, and the demands of positions, forming the most effective teams with strong, relevant expertise while ensuring value for money for international development projects.

  • Conduct tailored searches for specialist consultants who are critical to meeting our clients’ requirements on bids, and actively implement programmes
  • Expand Tetra Tech’s network of consultants and advisers in target sectors and countries.
  • Update and manage consultant records in the organisation’s consultant/recruitment database.
  • Provide input, offer guidance, and apply expertise to develop strategies that streamline recruitment systems for enhanced effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Design and facilitate candidate assessments (including competency and behaviour-based interviews and phone screens, technical exercises and presentation exercises).
  • Utilise social media to advertise job openings, attract top candidates, and foster meaningful relationships.
  • Develop and deliver training to teams on best practices for compliant international recruitment.
  • Support the Costing Manager in developing benchmarks for consultant rates.
  • Negotiate fee rates for all consultants to ensure the client obtains good value for money
Aptitude and skills

Previous experience in recruitment in an international context, preferably in an international development context.

  • Understanding the recruitment process (preferably within a fast-paced environment).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent working knowledge of popular job boards and social media sites (LinkedIn).
  • Working knowledge of Boolean searches (X-Ray search knowledge desirable).
  • Experience working with an Application Tracking System (ATS); knowledge of Taleo is an advantage.
Qualifications

Demonstrate relevant work experience in providing high-quality recruitment services in relevant sectors; and/or

  • Degree or certification in a relevant subject (business, operations, human resources, international development and associated social sciences).
