Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a receptionist in Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team. The post holder will be responsible for the administration of the relevant electronic patient information system and will provide front line administrative services to the department, welcoming patients and visitors, booking in and discharging patients and outpatient appointments, scanning notes, and liaising with patients and clinical professionals by telephone.

Responsibilities
  • Booking in patients attending Same Day Emergency Care onto the hospital computer systems.
  • Liaising with health care professionals and booking in patients on arrival.
  • Receive and deal with telephone messages, as required.
  • Cancel or change appointments according to clinic rules and procedures.
  • Reception duties on out-patient clinics, ensuring all computer details are maintained correctly on the Nerve Centre system and that all relevant details are entered.
  • Pre-clinic preparation, responsible for checking that necessary paperwork is available for patient reviews.
Requirements
  • You must have excellent computer skills, good organisational and communication skills; the ability to work effectively and proactively as part of a team and under your own initiative, and to cope well under pressure.
