Job summary

A healthcare service provider in Carmarthen seeks a Band 2 Receptionist/Clerical Officer to join their Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong organization abilities, and a willingness to learn. The successful candidate will have prior office administration experience, be proficient in IT systems, and be able to work as part of a team. A Level 2 qualification and a desire to support essential mental health services are essential. Competitive salary of £24,833 per annum.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 2 Receptionist/Clerical Officer to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team in Carmarthen

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal skills, strong organisation abilities and a desire to support our team and our leaders in everything we do.

Main duties of the job

An understanding of confidentiality is essential and an enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn is also very important.

The successful individual will need to be a team player with good verbal and written communication skills. Previous office administration experience is desirable and a good knowledge of IT systems (Microsoft Office packages and databases etc) is essential.

The applicants will be required to have a flexible approach towards the needs of the service and be able to travel between sites in a timely manner in line with the Transformation of Mental Health 7 day working.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.

We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

Our services are provided in:

  • Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
  • Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
  • Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
  • 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
