The Sexual Health Service is seeking to appoint Clinic Receptionist/ Clerical Officers to join their teams, working across clinics in Sefton.
The Clinic Receptionist/ Clerical Officer is the first point of contact for users of the Sexual Health service and will support day to day operational duties within a fast-paced service.
You will be required to staff the Single Point of Access, providing non-clinical advice, signposting, and arranging appropriate appointments for patients when they contact the service.
Working closely with the Sexual Health Administration Manager you will provide receptionist duties and other administrative support to the sexual health service.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will have the ability to forge and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
The ability to effectively communicate with service users is essential.

The post holder will provide clerical support to the Sefton Sexual Health Service.
The post holder will be required to work in all departments of the Sefton Sexual Health service where necessary including Single Point of Access.
This will also include reception duties at various locations, data input, record management, booking service users onto the Sexual Health Patient Administration System and assisting in the day to day running of the reception.
The post holder will deal pleasantly with clients, members of the public and staff.
From 1st April 2026 MWL will no longer provide the sexual health contract and it will not be an NHS provider after this date.

Person Specification
Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent in Maths and English Evidence of good written and verbal communication skills ECDL or equivalent experience of using Microsoft Office Software Packages Experience of dealing with the public, both face to face and on the telephone Previous receptionist or administrative experience Typing and keyboard skills Understanding of confidentiality Good interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy Good Customer Service skills and ability to deal with service users in a professional and positive manner Ability to prioritise own workload Ability to act on own initiative and understand limitations of own role and knowledge Flexibility, reliability and punctuality Ability to work in a sensitive, confidential and non-judgemental manner Ability to be mobile and able to work in all venues across Sefton as and when required
