Job description

We are looking to recruit a part‑time receptionist to undertake reception and administrative duties in a busy Perinatal department in Tower Hamlets. Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

IMPORTANT NOTE. To be considered for shortlisting, you must begin your supporting statement with the title Three reasons to shortlist me and provide these reasons, numbered 1-3.

The successful applicant will work closely with the clinical staff and administrative staff and will have daily, direct contact with patients, relatives and visitors. Excellent communication/customer service skills are a pre‑requisite for this role. The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times is absolutely essential. You will be well‑organised, highly motivated and able to work as part of a team. You will need to be hard‑working, flexible and reliable with good interpersonal skills. It is important that you are able to prioritise your own workload to meet the needs of the services. Please see Job Description for further details.

Applicants must be educated to GCSE or equivalent to include English Language. You must have excellent interpersonal and IT skills, including Windows based software products e.g. MS Word, Outlook and data inputting as you will be required to manage a room booking system. Previous experience in an NHS setting and a proven record of working well within a team would be required.

  • Updating the team and visitors sign in and out sheets.
  • Booking interpreters for new assessments and clinic appointment.
  • Booking transport for patients appointments.

  • Outcome appointment for Consultant clinics.
  • Discharge patient from the service.
