Job description
Receptionist

Willmott Dixon are looking for a Receptionist to join our Nottingham office. This is a full‑time permanent role, which requires an office presence 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.

As the first point of contact for visitors, clients and colleagues, you will play a key role in creating a warm, professional and well‑organised front‑of‑house experience. You'll bring strong communication skills, confidence in managing a busy reception environment, and a proactive, "can‑do" attitude. Working collaboratively with the wider administrative team, you will help ensure the smooth running of daily operations while upholding the high standards and values that define our organisation.

Key responsibilities
Front of House & Customer Service
  • Provide a professional, welcoming first point of contact for staff & visitors.
  • Answer and direct calls promptly, taking accurate messages where required.
  • Ensure meeting room booking system is managed effectively.
  • Prepare meeting rooms (catering, AV, layout) and ensure spaces are reset and maintained.
Office Management
  • Contract and facilities coordination.
  • Maintain office equipment and maintain appropriate stock levels (stationery, supplies, etc.).
  • Carry out daily walk‑throughs to ensure tidy, safe and professional office standards.
  • Act as Health & Safety Champion, identifying and resolving hazards as needed.
Team & Project Support
  • Provide holiday and absence cover for wider administrative colleagues.
  • Assist with planning and delivery of one‑off and recurring events/projects.
  • Contribute to the delivery of sustainability and social value commitments.

Essential and Desirable Criteria
Essential skills
  • Confident communicator with strong customer service focus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Positive, professional, and proactive approach to customer and colleague interaction.
Desirable skills
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a reception or administrative support environment.
  • Experience using SharePoint or similar document platforms.
