Overview

Real Estate Underwriter role based in London with a hybrid schedule (two days remote per week). Shape the future of London’s Real Estate insurance market with Everest. Since 2019, Everest’s Real Estate team has grown rapidly, earning a reputation for excellence and a solutions‑based underwriting approach. This is a market‑facing role that involves driving growth across multiple distribution channels, cultivating high‑value broker relationships, and learning from experienced Senior Underwriters.

Key Accountabilities
  • You underwrite and service Real Estate accounts across multiple distribution channels, ensuring alignment with Everest’s underwriting strategy, appetite, and profitability targets.
  • You develop the Real Estate portfolio while maintaining disciplined underwriting practices.
  • You cultivate and strengthen relationships with key brokers and clients, acting as a market‑facing representative of the business.
  • You prepare and present quotations and proposals for both new and renewal business.
  • You contribute to the evolution of internal systems, processes, and workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
  • You represent the Real Estate team in communications with senior management and cross‑functional departments.
  • You collaborate with other underwriting teams and departments, including Claims, Loss Control, and Finance.
  • You support business development through innovative strategies and by leveraging the Everest network.
  • You uphold internal controls and regulatory requirements in all underwriting and administrative activities.
Skills and Experience
  • You bring proven underwriting experience in UK Real Estate programmes, including delegated authority binder business.
  • You have market presence and the ability to build and maintain high‑value relationships internally and externally.
  • You understand the market landscape, trends, and product offerings in depth.
  • You demonstrate advanced analytical and technical skills, including expertise in policy wordings and risk assessment.
  • You apply sound judgment and business insight in decision‑making and risk evaluation.
  • You communicate effectively and negotiate confidently and influence senior underwriters around individual account strategy and decision making.
  • You’re committed to compliance and governance across all underwriting activities.
