Reactive Roofing Contracts Manager

We are currently working with a highly reputable construction business operating across Scotland who are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and versatile Reactive Roofing Contracts Manager to support the delivery of reactive and planned roofing works across multiple sites in North and South Ayrshire, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead teams across varied projects.
Role Purpose
The Reactive Roofing Contracts Manager will oversee the effective management, coordination and delivery of roofing works, ensuring all activities meet the highest standards of safety, quality and client satisfaction.
You will act as a key interface between internal teams, subcontractors and clients, supporting the full lifecycle of projects from planning to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Project & Client Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors and internal departments.
- Ensure all works comply with company policies, client specifications and statutory requirements.
- Support the Principal Contracts Manager and Helpdesk Team throughout all project phases.
- Liaise professionally with clients to manage expectations and resolve issues promptly.
- Attend emergency/reactive callouts as operationally required.
- Site & Safety Oversight
- Oversee on‑site operations to ensure compliance with SHEQ standards.
- Monitor all safe working practices and ensure adherence to current health and safety legislation.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks and compliance audits.
- Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements and site reports.
- Team Leadership & Performance
- Manage and support site teams to deliver high‑quality workmanship and meet project objectives.
- Mentor and motivate team members, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Encourage innovative working practices and contribute to operational process improvements.
- Reporting & Programme Management
- Assist in preparing project programmes, performance data and site progress updates.
- Review technical documentation, specifications and construction drawings.
- Identify business development opportunities through excellent service delivery.
Essential Qualifications & Certifications
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- Black CSCS Site Manager Card
- Fire Marshall certification
- Working at Height
- Manual Handling
- Temporary Works
- UKATA Asbestos Awareness
- First Aid at Work
- NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
Essential Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience in construction management or supervision, ideally within roofing or reactive maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems and multiple construction trades.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project documentation.
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management and reporting software.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites.
