Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure programme. You will oversee systems integration, design management and spatial coordination across a complex multi-party environment.

The role requires leading design governance, coordinating interfaces, and ensuring safety and technical assurance are embedded throughout the project lifecycle. Location options include London or Birmingham with a strong focus on delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration and coordination.
• Experience in contractor-led or alliance delivery environments preferred.
• Experience managing external design organisations and consultant teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between rail systems and main works contractors.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs and manage design clashes.
• Coordinate and monitor design progress to meet client requirements and milestones.
• Coordinate health and safety in design principles across disciplines.
• Provide technical leadership on design coordination matters and governance.
