Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure program, with offices in London, Euston or Birmingham. You will drive systems integration, design management and interface coordination across track systems, main works contractors, design partners and alliance members.

You will chair design coordination meetings, lead spatial coordination, and ensure governance, technical assurance and health and safety in design across the project.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design and integration.
• Experience working in contractor-led, design-and-build or alliance delivery environments.
• Experience on large-scale rail infrastructure programmes.
• Experience managing external design organisations and consultant teams.
• Strong understanding of design management processes within major rail or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interfaces between Track systems, Main Works Contractors, Design Partners and Alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs produced by design partners, alliance members and third parties.
• Chair and facilitate design coordination meetings, workshops, and reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress and ensure coordinated delivery per client requirements, standards and milestones.
• Coordinate health and Safety in Design principles and safety assurance activities.
• Support governance and design assurance across the Alliance.
