Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager for the HS2 Track infrastructure project. The role focuses on systems integration, spatial coordination and design governance to deliver complex rail solutions.

You will coordinate interfaces, manage design partners and lead safety and assurance activities in a collaborative alliance structure while working from London Euston, Birmingham Snow Hill or nearby project offices.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration and coordination.
• Experience in contractor-led, design and build or alliance delivery environments.
• Experience with large-scale rail infrastructure programmes.
• Experience managing external design organisations and consultant teams.
• Strong understanding of design management processes in major rail projects.
• Knowledge of safety and system assurance principles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between Track systems and alliance partners.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs produced by partners.
• Chair design coordination meetings and report progress per client standards.
• Coordinate technical assurance activities and ensure design compliance.
• Promote Health and Safety in Design across all disciplines.
• Ensure hazards are identified and mitigated through the design process.
