Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager for the HS2 Track infrastructure project at the initial design stage. You will coordinate interfaces and drive technical delivery across track systems, design partners and alliance members.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage design clashes, and ensure governance, safety and programme requirements are met, working from London or Birmingham offices.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design and integration.
• Experience in contractor-led, design-and-build or alliance delivery environments.
• Strong understanding of design management processes in major rail/infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between Track systems, design partners and alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination and resolve design clashes and interface issues.
• Chair design coordination meetings, workshops, and reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and ensure delivery aligns with client requirements, standards and milestones.
• Coordinate and promote Health and Safety in Design principles.
