Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project at the initial design phase. The role leads system integration, design management and interface coordination across track systems, main works contractors and design partners to keep the programme on schedule and within budget.

You will chair design coordination meetings, supervise spatial coordination, ensure technical assurance and Health and Safety in Design, and drive quality through

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration and coordination.
• Experience in contractor-led, design-and-build or alliance delivery environments preferred.
• Experience managing design interfaces and spatial coordination in large rail programmes.
• Strong understanding of design management processes, systems engineering and safety assurance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between track systems, main works contractors, design partners and alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs produced by partners and third parties.
• Chair and facilitate design coordination meetings and reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress and ensure delivery aligns with client requirements, standards and milestones.
• Coordinate and promote Health and Safety in Design principles across disciplines.
• Coordinate system safety activities and ensure safety requirements are integrated into design development.
