Job summary

A major civil engineering contractor is looking for a Health & Safety Manager for their rail division. You will oversee compliance with health & safety standards across multiple projects in the UK, provide training, and develop safety policies. Candidates should have a NEBOSH Diploma and ideally a minimum of 3 years experience in health & safety in railway construction. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to significant projects including HS2.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Safety & Health.
• Experience in health & safety management in civil engineering.
• Strong communication and guidance skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with SMS and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Conduct training and induction for staff on safety protocols.
• Coordinate internal health & safety planning meetings.

Skills

NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health

CSCS card holder

Internal health & safety auditing

Understanding of BS OHSAS 18001:2007

Knowledge of current health & safety legislation

Good presentation skills

Strong analytical skills
