Job summary

A leading construction product company in Shropshire is seeking an R&D Chemist to support the development of new and existing products. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemistry and relevant industrial experience in product development, particularly in construction. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. This is a permanent role offering a salary between £30,000 and £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven recent industrial experience in product development/formulation, ideally in construction.
  • Regulatory knowledge in relevant areas is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the development of both new and existing products and formulations.
  • Test products against standards and for application.
  • Research and test new raw materials.
  • Support Quality Control (QC) testing when required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues.
  • Manage the ISO systems.

SRG are working with a business who specialise in the development and production of construction products. They are now seeking to hire a R&D Chemist to join their technical team. This role will play a crucial part in continuing the development of both new and existing products and researching and testing new raw materials. This role will suit candidates with proven recent industrial experience of developing and formulating products, ideally with a background in construction, although other sectors will be considered.

Role/Description
  • Supporting in the development of both new and existing products and formulations
  • Testing products against standards and for application
  • Research and test new raw materials
  • Supporting in Quality Control (QC) testing when required
  • Support in troubleshooting production issues

Requirements
  • Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Proven recent industrial experience of development/formulation work of products, ideally within the construction and DIY sector
  • Regulatory knowledge within this area would be advantageous.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise
