Job summary

A leading civil engineering contractor in the UK is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage projects across marine and coastal engineering. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of NEC contracts and civil engineering practices. This role offers a competitive salary ranging from £50k to £60k, dependent on experience. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a variety of significant projects aimed at protecting coastlines and managing flood risks.

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate awareness and understanding of NEC (NEC3/NEC4) contracts.
  • Experience in civil and marine engineering projects essential.
  • Capability in tendering and procurement processes expected.
  • Understanding of CVR’s and financial reports desirable.
  • Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office package required.

Responsibilities

  • Procure subcontractors and negotiate pricing.
  • Communicate contract details with project team members.
  • Develop procurement strategy per contract programme.
  • Manage and submit payment applications timely.
  • Evaluate and submit prices for contractual variations.
  • Forecast costs and values with site teams.

Full driving license

Education

BSc in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management
Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors membership
