Overview

Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering

Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester

Salary: £45,000 - £54,000 DOE plus £4,000 Car Allowance & Benefits

Casey is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor from a civil engineering background to work on projects including highways, utilities, regeneration and public realm projects. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Responsibilities
  • Manage valuations, payments, and commercial reporting, including cost value reconciliations and final accounts.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement and management, ensuring compliance with financial, contractual, and H&S requirements.
  • Assess and value changes, handling variations, compensation events, and claims for extensions of time or loss/expense.
  • Liaise with clients and the supply chain on commercial matters and provide contract administration support.
  • Maximise project profitability through risk management, dispute resolution, and cost control.
  • Support estimating teams in pricing tenders where required.
  • Provide commercial guidance to project teams, ensuring adherence to change control and contract procedures.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; able to liaise with clients, consultants, and the wider supply chain.
  • Ability to manage risk, mitigate challenges, and drive best practice.
