Their expertise covers refurbishments, fit-outs, conversions, structural repairs, new-build schemes and ongoing planned maintenance programmes.

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and highly respected main contractor delivering a diverse range of projects including refurbishments, fit-outs, conversions, heritage works, structural repairs, new builds and planned maintenance programmes. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, commercially-minded QS who enjoys variety, responsibility and the chance to work on technically interesting and high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare cost estimates, cost plans and bills of quantities for refurbishment, fit-out, conversion and new-build projects.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts and financial reporting throughout project lifecycles.
  • Lead procurement of subcontractors and specialist trades, including tender analysis and negotiation.
  • Manage valuations, variations and payments in line with contract requirements.
  • Contribute to risk management, value engineering and cost-control strategies.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Support the commercial team across cyclical maintenance works and heritage building refurbishments where required.
About You
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting or specialist refurbishment/fit-out environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial management, contract administration and construction processes.
  • Experience with refurbishment, conversion or heritage projects is highly desirable.
  • Confident managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A positive, proactive and solution-focused approach.
Salary & Benefits
  • £65,000 - £80,000 (dependent on experience).
  • Pension: 5% employer contribution.
  • Holidays: 22 days + public holidays.
  • Increases by 1 day per year after 3 years' service, up to a maximum of 25 days.
