Job description

Are you a driven Quantity Surveyor looking to build your career across a diverse range of civils and structural engineering projects? We are representing a well-established contractor delivering groundworks, reinforced concrete sub- and super-structures, structural alterations, and public realm / hard landscaping schemes across the UK and mainland Europe. As part of this role, you will be required to work on projects abroad within Europe, with all associated travel and accommodation costs fully covered.

What You'll Do
  • Support commercial delivery by procuring supply-chain orders in a timely, compliant manner - issuing orders, valuations and payment notices.
  • Re-measure works accurately against scope and method of measurement, maximising entitlements where appropriate.
  • Prepare and submit external valuations under main-contract conditions and manage project cashflow to ensure timely payments.
  • Produce monthly cost/value reconciliation (CVR) reports, forecast final profit projections and analyse commercial performance.
  • Identify value-engineering opportunities, alternative delivery methods and "buy-gains" during procurement to help achieve or exceed budgeted outcomes.
  • Promote and uphold company health & safety standards across all sites, including overseas locations.
What We're Looking For
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and supply chain partners.
  • Strong numerical, financial and IT capability.
  • Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and civils/structural work packages.
  • Proactive, commercially aware mindset; capable of managing workload under tight deadlines both in the UK and abroad.
  • Willingness to travel and work across European project sites, with all expenses covered.
Why This Role

This opportunity offers exposure to a varied and technically challenging portfolio, both in the UK and wider European markets. You'll play a key role in the commercial function - helping drive project profitability, optimise procurement strategies and secure long-term value across major civils and structural projects.
