Job description

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Infrastructure highways team in Cambridgeshire on the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet improvement project. The purpose of the National Highways scheme is to address the problems of congestion, poor journey time reliability and poor resilience against incidents between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts, via a new 10km dual carriageway.

What you'll do:

  • Undertake and oversee subcontractor administration: forecasts, liabilities, payments and change control
  • Forecasting, reporting and analysis of labour, plant and material costs
  • Work closely with the operations team for effective cost and value management
  • Identification and valuation of change, risks and opportunities
  • Liaise with the site Client representatives on commercial issues, including the agreement of costs

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor, with main contractor background, ideally with experience working on a highways project
  • Experience with NEC forms of contract and subcontract and understanding of contractual requirements
  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent in commercial related subject
  • MRICS or CICES desirable
  • Able to work effectively with all disciplines of the site team to deliver results
