Qualifications

Quantitative Research Lead Sustainability

Please note this position is based in London and this will be the contractual location of the successful candidate other locations cannot be considered.

A bit about the job

This role brings data science expertise to the Sustainable Investing Function supporting Aviva’s commercial success through enhanced growth and investment performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering end‑to‑end sustainability technology solutions and quantitative models that address complex challenges within investment products and processes. They will leverage Aviva Investors quantitative research and development community to enrich sustainability risk analytics and develop models using appropriate data and technology including coding where required. The role involves operationalising these solutions within Aviva Investors technology architecture ensuring full compliance with regulatory obligations and governance standards. A deep understanding of sustainability data investment strategies and technology infrastructure is essential as the candidate will help shape solution objectives from initial problem statements and advise on the art of the possible.

Skills and experience required
  • Master level qualification / Finance or sustainability-related degree OR data science degree and business / management qualification preferable
  • Demonstrable and exceptional quantitative research modelling and coding capabilities
  • Deep knowledge of available sustainability data and its limitations
  • Knowledge of prevailing sustainability concepts frameworks industry best practice and regulations
  • Knowledge of the technology architecture supporting investment management
