Job summary

A leading Manufacturing company in Chesterfield is seeking a Quality Team Leader with a background in quality inspection and engineering. Responsibilities include managing non-conformance material, maintaining quality standards, and leading a small team. This role offers a standard working schedule from Monday to Friday with opportunities for paid overtime.

Job description

REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Manufacturing company.

Quality Team Leader
  • Work with other dept heads to ensure rework of non-conforming product is completed in a timely manner.
  • Record and communicate all non-conformance found from internal processes on the internal quality management database - internal and communicated daily.
  • Ensure measuring equipment is kept in good working order and calibrated accordingly where necessary.
  • Communicate Supplier Issues and work with the procurement team to manage non-conformance.
  • Work with production and despatch teams to prioritise work accordingly.
  • Communicate identified defects promptly to team leaders and collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution to ensure delivery on time, in full and to the required quality.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety during inspections and production activities to promote a secure workplace for all personnel.
Essential Experience
  • To be considered for this role you will have previously worked as a quality inspection/ engineer and have worked in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of managing a small team, working to job schedules and meeting daily targets would be advantageous but NOT Essential.
  • Be approachable with a positive attitude with the desire to lead by example.
  • Experience of working in a busy environment and be able to work under pressure, dealing with ever changing priorities.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Able to use measurement equipment and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Standard working hours - Monday - Friday 6am - 3.00pm - paid overtime.

Candidates from a Engineering & Manufacturing background or other industries such as automotive, woodworking would be highly advantageous.
